The Washington State Ferry System does not provide regularly scheduled service to Bellingham. However, Bellingham is the southern most connection for the Alaska Marine Highway System, the nation’s first marine scenic highway, transporting passengers and vehicles between Alaska and the lower 48 states. Most Alaskan communities are not accessible by a land based road system, so if you’ve ever dreamed about travelling to Alaska, here’s your chance to have a truly unique experience. Seasonal charter vessels can also be found at the Bellingham Ferry terminal, connecting folks to Victoria, British Columbia, as well as the San Juan Islands. Here is where you’d board the Gato Verde, if your artist-led workshop adventure includes the catamaran adventure sail.
